Warcraft Rumble – Developer Update Series
Blizzard Entertainment partnered with VELA to develop and produce the inaugural Warcraft Rumble Developer Update video—marking the first in an ongoing series. Tasked with building the show format from the ground up, VELA led all aspects of creative development, production, and post.
With a tight turnaround, we delivered a polished and engaging piece within just one month. From concepting the visual language to executing the run-of-show, our team shot on-location at Blizzard's iconic Irvine campus and brought the world of Warcraft Rumble to life for its passionate fanbase.
Hearth Stonebrew – Player Profile Vignette
VELA was tapped to direct a series of player profile vignettes for Hearthstone Brew, spotlighting the beloved Innkeeper of Hearthstone as part of a global anniversary campaign. The goal: celebrate the community, drive engagement at live events, and boost game downloads.
Shot on location at Blizzard HQ and on the ground at BlizzCon, the spots were crafted to blend warmth, nostalgia, and the spirit of the game’s universe. Released across Blizzard’s website, YouTube, and social media, the campaign continues to live on beyond the anniversary—an evergreen asset celebrating Hearthstone’s world and players.
Hearthstone – Global Player Profiles Campaign
VELA partnered with Blizzard Entertainment to lead its most ambitious Hearthstone storytelling campaign to date—a global series of cinematic player profiles that put real fans at the heart of the narrative. Shot across nine international and domestic locations, the series spotlighted the community’s diversity, passion, and personal connection to the game.
Each vignette was crafted to celebrate players while promoting Hearthstone’s World Championship and driving traffic to key live events—all with the ultimate goal of boosting game downloads and deepening brand affinity. From ideation through post, VELA managed full creative direction, international production logistics, and narrative development across each region.
The campaign launched across Blizzard’s owned channels, including their website, YouTube, and social media, and continues to live on as evergreen content. These profiles not only captured the spirit of the game but created an emotional bridge between players and the world of Hearthstone—a defining moment in the game’s legacy of fan-first storytelling.
