Bloomberg Originals – Power Players
VELA Studios was commissioned by Bloomberg Originals to lead cinematography for the Los Angeles segments of the documentary series Power Players. The series highlights the influential figures shaping the future of women’s sports, and our role was to bring the energy, emotion, and ambition of that story to life on camera.
Our team was responsible for lighting and filming high-profile interviews, capturing game-day coverage of the NWSL season opener between Bay FC and Angel City FC, and documenting key moments with the league commissioner and team owners throughout their time in L.A.
With a focus on cinematic storytelling and elevated visuals, we worked closely with Bloomberg’s editorial team to ensure each frame supported the series’ larger mission: showcasing the business, culture, and power driving women’s professional sports into a new era.
